  Where to begin? First time at @janedoejc and what a treat! We were greeted by a warm and hospitable staff who recommended some of the chef’s specials - our waitress was knowledgeable and assisted us with wine choices and pairings. We enjoyed some Japanese-Mexican inspired cocktails while waiting for our dishes. We then shared small plates - everything was delicious but the brazed mushroom skewers were to die for! Polenta cakes were melting and the Japanese roasted potatoes were unexpected when it comes to flavor- our main dishes were excellent, and the wine were perfectly paired. My only regret, not having enough room for dessert!!! We concluded our diner by toasting and celebrating the very talented young chef Arturo @arturoramos16 who puts so much love into his menu and presentation- great career ahead of this bright man with an excellent training in some of NYC finest kitchen. Bravo ! 👏🏻

  I recently discovered Jane Doe, and it has quickly become a favorite of mine. In just one week, I’ve dined there twice, and each experience has been absolutely delightful. The Food Starter: Japanese Sweet Potatoes These are absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked with a subtle sweetness and just the right amount of seasoning. A fantastic way to begin the meal. Entree: Gluten-Free Scampi This dish is to die for! I’m obsessed with the rich flavor and the light kick that elevates it to perfection. It’s incredibly satisfying and filling without feeling heavy—a truly delightful dish. Dessert: Limoncello Olive Oil Cake This is now one of my favorite desserts of all time. The cake is moist, flavorful, and simply outstanding. A must-try for anyone visiting Jane Doe. The Atmosphere: The ambiance is warm and cozy, making it an inviting spot to enjoy a meal. The music is on the louder side, but it’s still possible to have a conversation. The friendly and attentive staff add to the charm of the place, making every visit enjoyable. Jane Doe has quickly earned a top spot on my list of go-to restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a satisfying meal or a cozy night out, this place delivers on all fronts!

  Service, cocktails and food were all on point. We went Sunday evening and had the octopus, steak tartar, scallion pancake, pesto pasta, pork chop and olive oil cake. Service was great no fuss but professional and honest hooked us up with an amari cocktail shot to go. Might be one of our best experiences in jersey city dining in a while. Thanks will definitely be back to try some other offerings.

  My friends and I had the best time last night at Jane Doe’s. We sat at the bar and started off with shots of Fortaleza, which led into some cocktails and right back to more shots of Fortaleza. Happy to report that we killed the bottle. We started off with beef skewers and meatball skewers - both were PHENOMENAL. The beef had a curry kick, which was both unexpected and a pleasant surprise. The meatballs were super juicy and the onions, cheese, and sauce only added to the flavors. I highly recommend these two skewers. For the entrees we had the chicken and the bone marrow pasta. Both were delicious. So good that I bought another to go. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. We were given an extra shot of a caffeinated drink which was super cool and then the CHEF even came out. We chatted and I asked about the chicken as it was incredibly filled with F L A V O R. He explained his process and how he achieved the taste. My friends and I were interested and we all had a fantastic time. To top it all off, the chef dropped us a special shot and I have no idea what it was, but for sure it was good! I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot.

  Awesome spot. Great food, amazing cocktails, and great service!
